Call for Council Member Applicants
AAO Council on Information Technology
Dr. Richard Savage has served PCSO well on the AAO Council on Information Technology (COIT) since 1999. His term with the COIT will end in May, 2009 and PSCO is seeking an enthsiastic and qualified representative for this Council.
The Council charge is to:
Be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of information technology as it affects the operation of the AAO and the Association’s relationships with its members, health-related entities, and the public.
COIT meets one or two times per year as a full Council and may also have periodic conference calls. In addition, committees of the Council may meet or schedule calls. The current committees are:
Education Committee
Website Committee
Practice Management Software Committee
ADA SCSI & DICOM Committee
Paperless House of Delegates Committee
The ideal Council representative will show interest and knowledge in one or several of the areas mentioned above, be available to travel to St. Louis for one or two meetings each year (typically held on Friday and Saturday), plan to attend the AAO Annual Session and be prepared to serve on one or more committees of the Council.

Director to AAO Services, Inc.
The national board of AAO Services, Inc. (the for-profit subsidiary of the AAO) has issued a call for nominations to fill a vacant director position.
PCSO may submit candidates for consideration by the AAO Services, Inc. Nominating Committee.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Be an active AAO member
- Demonstrated leadership outside of organized dentistry and orthodontics
- Demonstrated interest and experience in business activities (banking, financial services, technology, board service, etc.)
- Commitment to at least one three-year term
