Since my humble beginnings as a street vendor on Broadway in November of 1989, House of Nubian has grown to become one of NYC's premier Hip-Hop, Negro League, and Reggae one-stop shopping stores.

All of my Negro League items are licensed by the Surviving Players of the Negro League 1900-1950, which ensures that royalties are paid directly to actual players and their families. My father, Melvin McCray, was himself a Negro League baseball player and now President of Surviving Players of the Negro League.

As of 10/31/02, I had to close the retail store on West 8th street NYC, in order to devote more resources to this Web Site.

I want to thank all the customers that have supported House of Nubian throughout our 13 years on West 8th street.
